We have officially landed in Holland, Michigan. Lydia, Andrew, and I (Marcia) are moved in with our oldest son, Jonathan, in his two-bedroom trailer. It hasn't been easy, but the Lord is giving us more wisdom every day. It's been good for us to downsize. Sometimes we have the overwhelming urge to simplify our lives, but don't have the motivation. Try moving from a 1500 sq.ft. home into a 700 sq.ft. trailer!
Les and Sam are sharing an apartment which they are renting from a Christian widow that we've known for over 15 years. It has been a blessing for her and for us. Les is still working at Heartland Parking to generate income for the life change, and Sam is working at the A.C. Home in Roanoke and attending I.C.C. in East Peoria.
Les has finally decided to use the proceeds from the sale of our home to go back to school and learn a marketable trade. There have been ideas floating around from electronics to truck driving. He's still in the research stages. However, it is imperative that I go back to work. This has been an agonizing decision, especially with children still homeschooling, but one which must be made now while we still have the opportunity to make this life change. I will need your prayers as I search this week. I already have a part-part-time job with a woman who owns a clothing store on the Lake. I will be her bookkeeper. Hopefully, I can fill in the extra hours with temp. work. If nothing materializes, I'll try doing typing at home. There are a lot of colleges and small businesses in this area, so I believe that I can find plenty of work. We need your prayers.
As soon as I'm settled into some gainful employment Les can quit Heartland and sign up for classes up here somewhere. Can't wait to get him at least within the same state!!!! Of course, we'll have to find larger quarters at that point--another matter of prayer. Pray also that Sam would have wisdom about whether or not to move up here, too. We miss him, too.
More updates on the way!
